Smart net system with led target zones and camera-based ball tracking

A method for automated soccer training, comprising:

• activating one or more LED target zones within a net assembly attached to a soccer goal to indicate target areas for ball placement, wherein the LED target zones comprise a plurality of vertically arranged LED strips integrated into the net assembly;
• capturing video data of ball movement toward the soccer goal using a camera system positioned behind the soccer goal;
• processing the captured video data with a processing unit to detect ball trajectory and determine ball impact location within the soccer goal;
• comparing the determined ball impact location to the activated LED target zones to determine shot accuracy;
• and
• providing visual feedback through the LED target zones based on the determined shot accuracy by controlling illumination patterns of the plurality of LED strips.

A mobile device configured to execute a training application for a smart soccer goal training system, the mobile device comprising:

• a display;
• a processor;
• and
• a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the mobile device to:
• display a training mode selection interface on the display, the training mode selection interface presenting a plurality of selectable training modes including at least a first training mode with LED target zones distributed across an entire goal opening and a second training mode with LED target zones concentrated in corner regions of the goal opening;
• receive a user selection of a training mode from the plurality of selectable training modes;
• display a difficulty level selection interface on the display, the difficulty level selection interface presenting a plurality of difficulty levels with corresponding target zone sizes;
• transmit configuration data to a control unit of the smart soccer goal training system based on the selected training mode and difficulty level;
• receive performance data from the control unit during a training session, the performance data including shot accuracy measurements and ball velocity data;
• and
• display real-time performance feedback on the display based on the received performance data.
