Device and method for processing plants

A device for picking up plants or plant parts resting on a ground in at least one swathe, the device comprising:

• a vehicle comprising a chassis on wheels;
• and
• at least one pick-up arm mountable on the vehicle, the at least one pick-up arm comprising:
• a frame with a mounting system configured to mount the at least one pick-up arm on the vehicle, the frame including a free outer end provided with a pick-up element configured to pick up plants or plant parts resting on the ground,
• a sub-frame disposed on the frame to pivot in a lateral direction via a pivoting element, a conveyor configured to transport plants or plant parts picked up by the pick-up element being disposed on the sub-frame, and
• an actuator attached to the sub-frame and the frame and configured to pivot the sub-frame with the conveyor mounted thereon reciprocally in the lateral direction.
