A memory controller, including:

• a controller processor;
• and
• a host interface controller coupled to the controller processor and configured to execute control instructions, the control instructions to cause the host interface controller to:
• receive an operation command from a host;
• receive a logical address translation request sent by the controller processor in response to the operation command, wherein the logical address translation request includes a logical address;
• retrieve a physical address corresponding to the logical address from a logical address to physical address mapping table, wherein the logical address to physical address mapping table is obtained by the host interface controller from a memory of the host, and the memory of the host stores the logical address to physical address mapping table;
• and
• send the physical address to the controller processor.

A method of a memory system, the method comprising:

• receiving an operation command from a host;
• receiving a logical address translation request sent by a controller processor in response to the operation command, wherein the logical address translation request includes a logical address;
• retrieving a physical address corresponding to the logical address from a logical address to physical address mapping table, wherein the logical address to physical address mapping table is obtained by a host interface controller from a memory of the host, and the memory of the host stores the logical address to physical address mapping table;
• and
• sending the physical address to the controller processor.
