Abstract
A semi-transparent projection surface comprising one or more yarns knitted together to form a projection area, at least some of the yarns being coated with a metal substance. Other projection apparatus and methods are disclosed and in particular to the use of a semi-transparent projection screen to allow two-dimensional projected images to appear as three dimensional, realistic representations of life size objects or people, or to create live special effects appearing in free space.
Claims11
A knitted projection surface comprising:
- at least two yarns knitted together to form a projection area, and wherein at least one of the yarns has a metal coating deposited thereon
(canceled)
A method for manufacturing a semi-transparent projection screen comprising:
- treating a semi-transparent projection screen formed from knitted together loops of yarn, of which at least some of the constituent yarns are metal-coated with an anti-tarnishing agent.
A method of reducing the impact of an undesired secondary image formed behind a projected holographic image projected onto a semi-transparent screen, said method including coating at least a portion of the screen where the secondary image appears with a light-absorbing material comprising carbon nanotubes.
