Abstract
A fiber assembly includes first and second multicore fibers that are bundled and that each include: cores; and a cladding surrounding the cores. An optical characteristic of one of the cores in the first multicore fiber is different from an optical characteristic of one of the cores in the second multicore fiber that corresponds to the one of the cores in the first multicore fiber.
Claims22

- and
- a cladding surrounding the cores, wherein
- an optical characteristic of one of the cores in the first multicore fiber is different from an optical characteristic of one of the cores in the second multicore fiber that corresponds to the one of the cores in the first multicore fiber.
