Elevator system having individual user interfaces on elevator operating devices

A method for operating an elevator system, wherein the elevator system comprises a control device, an elevator car-which can move between floors, and an elevator operating device having a display device, wherein the elevator operating device is configured to activate the display device to display a user interface said method comprising:

• receiving a configuration command via the control device, wherein the configuration command indicates that a first person wishes to modify a default user interface or an existing custom user interface;
• receiving a configuration signal via the control device comprising a custom display instruction set by the first person, wherein the custom display instruction modifies the default user interface or the existing custom user interface;
• and
• storing the custom display instruction in a storage device, wherein the custom display instruction is assigned to a usage feature in the storage device and wherein the usage feature is assigned to the first person or to one or more additional persons for whom the custom display instruction is valid,
• wherein the control device is configured to activate the display device according to the custom display instruction upon receipt of a usage feature that corresponds to the one stored in the storage device, wherein the display device displays a current custom user interface.
