Abstract

The present disclosure describes a cup system for simultaneous delivery of contents from separated cups to a mouth of a user. The cup system includes an outer cup, an inner cup, a lid, and a cap. The outer cup includes an upper lip with a threaded surface configured to engage with a mating threaded surface of a lid. The inner cup includes an engaging lip configured to engage with a lower inner lip and configured to form a seal between the inner cup and the lid, as well as a flange located below the engaging lip that extends outward from a periphery of the inner cup. The lid includes an outer wall with a lower outer lip comprising the mating threaded surface, the mating threaded surface is configured to engage with a threaded surface. The cap includes a mating engagement feature configured to engage with an inner wall engagement feature.

Dependent claims

A cup system for simultaneous delivery of contents from separated cups, comprising:

a lid comprising:
a fluid passage;
a lid inner surface;
an outer wall having a lower outer lip and a top edge;
and
an inner wall defining a central opening and having a lower inner lip and a top edge connected to the top edge of the outer wall;
an inner cup removably coupled to the lid, comprising:
an inner cup outer surface;
an engaging lip removably engaged with the lower inner lip of the lid;
and
a flange located below the engaging lip and extending outward a flange length distance from a periphery of the outer surface of the inner cup;
and
an outer cup removably coupled to the lid, the outer cup comprising:
an outer cup inner surface;
an upper lip removably engaged with the lower outer lip of the lid,
whereby a space is formed between the inner cup outer surface, the outer cup inner surface, and the lid inner surface, wherein the flange length distance comprises at least half of a distance between the inner cup outer surface and the outer cup inner surface at the location of the flange.

A method of providing a cup system for simultaneous delivery of contents from separated cups, comprising:

providing a lid comprising:
a fluid passage;
a lid inner surface;
an outer wall having a lower outer lip and a top edge;
and
an inner wall defining a central opening and having a lower inner lip and a top edge connected to the top edge of the outer wall;
removably coupling an inner cup to the lid, the inner cup comprising:
an inner cup outer surface;
an engaging lip removably engageable with the lower inner lip of the lid;
and
a flange located below the engaging lip and extending outward a flange length distance from a periphery of the inner cup outer surface, wherein the removably coupling the inner cup to the lid comprises coupling the engaging lip to the lower inner lip of the lid;
and
upon removably coupling the inner cup to the lid, removably coupling an outer cup to the lid, the outer cup comprising:
an outer cup inner surface;
and
an upper lip removably engageable with the lower outer lip of the lid,
wherein the removably coupling the outer cup to the lid comprises coupling the upper lip to the lower outer lip of the lid, whereby a space is formed between the inner cup outer surface, the outer cup inner surface, and the lid inner surface, wherein the flange length distance comprises at least half of a distance between the inner cup outer surface and the outer cup inner surface at the location of the flange.
