Abstract
An oral care composition includes malonic acid or a salt thereof and from greater than 0 ppm to about 300 ppm, by weight of the oral care composition, of iron. The oral care composition may include from about 0.1% to about 15%, of the malonic acid or a salt thereof. The oral care composition may provide efficacious oral hard tissue biofilm control.

An oral care composition comprising:
- from about 0.1% to about 15%, of malonic acid or the salt thereof;
- and
- from greater than 0 ppm to about 300 ppm, by weight of the oral care composition, of iron,
- wherein the oral care composition reduces a ferrous ion density or a calcium ion density in extracellular polymeric substances in existing biofilm.
