Abstract
A deployment system is provided including an expandable branching stent prosthesis including a trunk portion, a first branching portion, and a second branching portion. The second branching portion includes a fluid-conductive lumen in a collapsed state. The fluid-conductive lumen includes an open distal end and a closed proximal end.
Claims19
A deployment system comprising:
- an expandable branching stent prosthesis comprising:
- a trunk portion;
- a first branching portion proximally attached to the trunk portion;
- and
- a second branching portion proximally attached to the trunk portion;
- and
- wherein the second branching portion comprises a fluid-conductive lumen in a collapsed state, the fluid-conductive lumen comprising an open distal end and a closed proximal end.
4 more elements
An expandable branching stent prosthesis comprising:
- a trunk portion;
- a first branching portion attached to the trunk portion;
- and
- a second branching portion attached to the trunk portion;
- wherein the expandable branching stent prosthesis comprises a partially-expanded configuration wherein the trunk portion is in expanded state and the second branching portion is in a collapsed state;
- wherein a precursory lumen disposed within the second branching portion in the collapsed state is in fluid communication with a lumen of the trunk portion in the expanded state.
3 more elements
A method of manufacturing a deployment system, the method comprising:
- inserting a mandrel into a lumen of a second branching portion of an expandable, branching stent prosthesis in an expanded configuration, the expandable, branching stent prosthesis comprising:
- a trunk portion;
- a first branching portion attached to the trunk portion;
- and
- the second branching portion attached to the trunk portion;
- compressing the expandable, branching stent prosthesis from the expanded configuration into a compressed configuration;
- and
- removing the mandrel from the second branching portion of the expandable, branching stent prosthesis in the compressed configuration such that a cavity remains, the cavity comprising a fluid-conductive lumen disposed within the second branching portion.
