Corrective collar utilizing geolocation technology and underground-wire fence

A method comprising:

• receiving, at a collar worn by an animal, geo-fence data corresponding to at least one
• predetermined area, the at least one predetermined area defined by at least one geo-fence boundary
• separating an indoor location from an outdoor location;
• determining, whether the collar has crossed the at least one geo-fence boundary based at least in part on position data from a geolocation sensor of the collar;
• responsive to determining that the collar is located within the indoor location, operating the collar in a first operational mode comprising temporarily deactivating location tracking via the geolocation sensor;
• and
• responsive to determining that the collar is located within the outdoor location, operating the collar in a second operational mode comprising activating location tracking via the geolocation sensor.

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause a system to:

• receive geo-fence data corresponding to at least one predetermined area, the at least one predetermined area defined by at least one of:
• a geo-fence boundary separating an indoor location from an outdoor location, and an underground cable disposed along a predetermined geographic boundary;
• receive position data corresponding to a position of a collar worn by an animal from a geolocation sensor of the collar;
• operate in a first operational mode responsive to determining that the collar is located within the at least one predetermined area, the first operational mode comprising temporarily deactivating location tracking via the geolocation sensor;
• and
• operate in a second operational mode responsive to determining that the collar is located outside of the at least one predetermined area, the second operational mode comprising activating location tracking via the geolocation sensor.
