Abstract

Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for communicating operating channel information on a reporting channel of a wireless frequency band. Computing devices, such as network devices (e.g., access points, routers, or gateways) may desire to determine operating information about other network devices and other devices in an area. These computing devices may also desire to determine information about other channels in the frequency band. The computing devices may synchronize the times or periods that each of the computing devices reports to and receives from other computing devices operating channel information. Each computing device may switch from its operating channel to a particular channel within the frequency band, the reporting channel, to report to and receive from the other computing devices the operating channel information during each reporting period.
