Abstract

This disclosure discloses a communication method and a communication apparatus. This disclosure may be applied to a communication scenario supporting a random access procedure and a multi-node resource multiplexing scenario. The method includes: receiving a first message, where the first message includes a first random access preamble; and performing downlink transmission, where a resource for the downlink transmission does not include a downlink resource in a first window or a downlink resource in a first window and in a beam direction of the first message, the first window includes k time units used by a cell to which the first random access preamble belongs to send a second message, the second message and the first message belong to a same random access procedure, and k is an integer greater than 0.
