Band switching

A network entity for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors, coupled to the memory, configured to:
• generate a configuration that indicates a priority for each band of multiple bands, the multiple bands including a highest priority band;
• and
• transmit the configuration.

A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• receiving a configuration that indicates a priority for each band of multiple bands, the multiple bands including a highest priority band;
• and
• performing one of:
• switching, as part of a band switch, from a first band of the multiple bands to a second band of the multiple bands before or after transmission in the highest priority band, based at least in part on the highest priority band participating in the band switch and based at least in part on a configured switching gap being sufficient for the band switch, or
• switching, as part of the band switch, from the first band to the second band independent of when transmission occurs in the highest priority band, based at least in part on the highest priority band not participating in or not having transmission interrupted by the band switch and based at least in part on the configured switching gap being sufficient for the band switch, or
• dropping the first band or the second band based at least in part on the configured switching gap not being sufficient for the band switch.
