Digital overlay

A digital overlay system comprising:

• a user device in communication with a network conferencing program, the user device comprising at least one processor coupled with a memory;
• an image capturing device operatively coupled with the user device and configured to capture a video feed, the image capturing device communicatively coupled to the network conferencing program;
• and
• the user device storing an application that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the at least one processor to:
• output, to the user device, a first user interface comprising the video feed and a digital overlay screen, wherein the digital overlay screen comprises digital content configured to be read or viewed by a user during a presentation, wherein the digital overlay screen is configured to be at least partially superimposed on the video feed, wherein the digital overlay screen is configured to create an appearance that a user is maintaining eye contact with the image capturing device while reading or viewing the digital content, and
• wherein a second user interface comprising the video feed is outputted to one or more remote devices in communication with the network conferencing program, and wherein the digital overlay screen is only displayed on the first user interface.
