Abstract
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments herein disclose a method of federation management. The method comprises establishing a network resource model (NRM) for facilitating edge federation between an originating operator and a participating operator, and enabling the originating operator to use edge resources of the participating operator.

A method performed by a provisioning management service (MnS) consumer of an originating operator for federation management, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to a provisioning MnS producer of the originating operator, a first request for edge federation instance object class (IOC);
- and
- receiving, from the provisioning MnS producer, a first response in response to the first request,
- wherein the edge federation IOC includes an identifier of the originating operator.
A provisioning management service (MnS) consumer entity of an originating operator entity for federation management, the provisioning MnS consumer entity comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
- transmit, to a provisioning MnS producer entity of the originating operator entity, a first request for edge federation instance object class (IOC), and
- receive, from the provisioning MnS producer entity, a first response in response to the first request,
- wherein the edge federation IOC includes an identifier of the originating operator entity.
