Abstract
A battery module having a case with a space inside and a first venting hole formed on an upper surface of the case, a plurality of battery cells provided inside the space is provided. A first cover covers the upper surface of the case and has a second venting hole facing the first venting hole. A second cover covers the first cover and has a score line facing the second venting hole.

A battery module comprising:
- a case having a space therein and a first venting hole formed on an upper surface thereof;
- a plurality of battery cells provided inside the space;
- a first cover configured to cover the upper surface of the case and having a second venting hole facing the first venting hole;
- and
- a second cover configured to cover the first cover and having a score line facing the second venting hole.
