Systems and method for food and beverage recognition and processing. A method for food and beverage recognition and processing includes receiving menu information. The method includes receiving information associated with an account of a customer. The method includes taking an image of a tray of the customer. The method includes determining contents of the tray of the customer using the image of the tray of the customer and the menu information. The method includes sending information about the determined contents to a recipient.

A self-checkout method, comprising:
- receiving menu information;
- receiving information associated with a customer account;
- taking an image of a tray of a customer, wherein the customer is associated with the customer account;
- storing the information associated with the customer account and the image of the tray of the customer;
- determining contents of the tray of the customer using the image of the tray of the customer and the menu information;
- and
- sending information about the determined contents to a recipient.
