Abstract
The present disclosure generally relates to wireless data communications, such as between a mobile electronic device and a contactless terminal.
Claims12
A computer system configured to communicate with one or more input devices, a secure element, one or more wireless transmitters, and one or more wireless receivers, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
- while the computer system is a threshold distance away from a contactless terminal system, wherein the threshold distance is more than 5 centimeters:
- wirelessly receiving, directly from the contactless terminal system via the one or more wireless receivers, a request for account information to proceed with a transaction;
- subsequent to wirelessly receiving the request for account information to proceed with the transaction, receiving, via the one or more input devices, user input authorizing transmitting account information to the contactless terminal system;
- and
- in response to receiving user input authorizing transmitting account information to the contactless terminal system, wirelessly transmitting, directly to the contactless terminal system via the one or more wireless transmitters, account information of an account that is provisioned onto a secure element of the computer system.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of a computer system that is in communication with one or more input devices, a secure element, one or more wireless transmitters, and one or more wireless receivers, the one or more programs including instructions for:
- while the computer system is a threshold distance away from a contactless terminal system, wherein the threshold distance is more than 5 centimeters:
- wirelessly receiving, directly from the contactless terminal system via the one or more wireless receivers, a request for account information to proceed with a transaction;
- subsequent to wirelessly receiving the request for account information to proceed with the transaction, receiving, via the one or more input devices, user input authorizing transmitting account information to the contactless terminal system;
- and
- in response to receiving user input authorizing transmitting account information to the contactless terminal system, wirelessly transmitting, directly to the contactless terminal system via the one or more wireless transmitters, account information of an account that is provisioned onto a secure element of the computer system.
A method, comprising:
- at a computer system that is in communication with one or more input devices, a secure element, one or more wireless transmitters, and one or more wireless receivers:
- while the computer system is a threshold distance away from a contactless terminal system, wherein the threshold distance is more than 5 centimeters:
- wirelessly receiving, directly from the contactless terminal system via the one or more wireless receivers, a request for account information to proceed with a transaction;
- subsequent to wirelessly receiving the request for account information to proceed with the transaction, receiving, via the one or more input devices, user input authorizing transmitting account information to the contactless terminal system;
- and
- in response to receiving user input authorizing transmitting account information to the contactless terminal system, wirelessly transmitting, directly to the contactless terminal system via the one or more wireless transmitters, account information of an account that is provisioned onto a secure element of the computer system.
