Abstract
An apparatus is provided that includes a first memory die including first corresponding initialization information, and a memory controller coupled to the first memory die. The memory controller includes a copy of the first corresponding initialization information, and is configured to selectively initialize the first memory die using either the first corresponding initialization information from the first memory die or the copied first corresponding initialization information from the memory controller.

An apparatus comprising:
- a first memory die comprising first corresponding initialization information;
- and
- a memory controller coupled to the first memory die, the memory controller comprising a copy of the first corresponding initialization information, the memory controller configured to:
- selectively initialize the first memory die using either the first corresponding initialization information from the first memory die or the copied first corresponding initialization information from the memory controller.

A method comprising:
- determining initialization information for a memory die comprising a plurality of non-volatile memory cells;
- programming a block of the memory cells with the initialization information;
- first initializing the memory die using the initialization information programmed in the block of memory cells;
- determining that the memory die successfully initialized;
- and
- storing a copy of the initialization information in a memory controller coupled to and associated with the memory die.

- a memory die comprising initialization information;
- and
- a memory controller comprising a copy of the initialization information, the memory controller configured to:
- initiate a power on read sequence on the memory die;
- determine that a power on read bypass mode has been selected for the memory die;
- transfer the copy of the initialization information from the memory controller to a latch on the memory die;
- initialize the memory die using the transferred copy of the initialization information;
- and
- determine that the memory die successfully initialized.
