A user interface mounting system for a cooktop includes a bracket assembly having a longitudinal body extending between a first end and a second end. The longitudinal body includes a top body surface configured to face a top panel of a cooktop and a bottom body surface. A first leg is coupled to the longitudinal body proximate the first end and a second leg is coupled to the longitudinal body proximate the second end. A pin extends between a first pin end coupled to the longitudinal body to a second pin end. The user interface module is coupled to the second pin end. At least one of the longitudinal body and the user interface module defines a through hole that is slidably engaged by the pin. At least one spring is proximate the pin and biases the user interface module away from the longitudinal body.
