Abstract

A stackable form block forming a concrete wall form includes an interior foam panel and an exterior foam panel joined by one or more web members. The interior panel outer channels open to the outer surface to define utility conduits for ease of recessing utilities into the assembled wall. The interior foam panel may have inner channels open to the inner surface of the interior panel to define protruding stiffening ribs on the concrete that fills the main cavity of the form. The inner channels are offset from the outer channels so that the interior foam panel follows a rectangular waveform pattern in the longitudinal direction of the form block. A rebar pocket on the web member receives a rebar member vertically slidable therein spaced from the inner surfaces of the foam panels to support vertical rebar before concrete is poured.

Dependent claims

A form block for stacking with other blocks of like configuration to define a concrete wall form, the form block comprising:

an interior foam panel having an inner surface and an outer surface spanning a length of the interior foam panel in a longitudinal direction of the form block and a height of the interior foam panel;
an exterior foam panel having an inner surface and an outer surface spanning the length of the exterior foam panel in the longitudinal direction of the form block and the height of the exterior foam panel;
and
at least one web member extending between opposing ends of the web member, the opposing ends of the at least one web member being anchored within the interior foam panel and the exterior foam panel respectively such that (i) the inner surfaces of the interior and exterior foam panels define opposing boundaries of a concrete receiving cavity of the concrete wall form, (ii) the outer surface of the interior
foam panel defines part of an interior surface at an interior side of the concrete wall form, and (iii) the outer surface of the exterior foam panel defines part of an exterior surface at an exterior side of the concrete wall form;
wherein the interior foam panel comprises at least one outer channel formed therein so as to be open to the outer surface of the interior foam panel;
and wherein the at least one outer channel is sized and arranged for alignment with the at least one outer channel of said other blocks of like configuration to define a utility conduit for receiving utilities therein when the form block is stacked with said other blocks to define the concrete wall form.

A form block for stacking with other blocks of like configuration to define a concrete wall form, the form block comprising:

an interior foam panel having an inner surface and an outer surface spanning a length of the interior foam panel in a longitudinal direction of the form block and a height of the interior foam panel;
an exterior foam panel having an inner surface and an outer surface spanning the length of the exterior foam panel in the longitudinal direction of the form
block and the height of the exterior foam panel;
and
at least one web member extending between opposing ends of the web member, the opposing ends of the at least one web member being anchored within the interior foam panel and the exterior foam panel respectively such that (i) the inner surfaces of the interior and exterior foam panels define opposing boundaries of a concrete receiving cavity of the concrete wall form, (ii) the outer surface of the interior foam panel defines part of an interior surface at an interior side of the concrete wall form, and (iii) the outer surface of the exterior foam panel defines part of an exterior surface at an exterior side of the concrete wall form;
wherein the interior foam panel comprises at least one inner channel formed therein so as to be open to the inner surface of the interior foam panel and the concrete receiving cavity;
and
wherein the at least one inner channel is sized and arranged for alignment with the at least one inner channel of said other blocks of like configuration to define a protruding portion of the concrete receiving cavity when the form block is stacked with said other blocks to define the concrete wall form;
wherein a thickness at said protruding portion between the inner surface of the interior foam panel and the inner surface of the exterior foam panel is at least 50% greater than a thickness at a remainder of the concrete receiving cavity between the inner surface of the interior foam panel and the inner surface of the exterior foam panel.
