The present disclosure relates to an arrangement for household waste, the arrangement comprising: a container for household waste; a compression device arranged in the container for compressing the waste within the container; a cooling device arranged to provide a desired temperature within the container; and a control device configured to control the cooling device to freeze compressed waste within the container.

An arrangement for household waste, the arrangement comprising:
- a container for household waste;
- a compression device arranged in the container for compressing the waste within the container;
- a cooling device arranged to provide a desired temperature within the container;
- and
- a control device configured to control the cooling device to freeze compressed waste within the container.
A method for handling household waste by means of an arrangement for household waste, the arrangement comprising a container for household waste;
- a compression device arranged in the container for compressing the waste within the container;
- a cooling device arranged to provide a desired temperature within the container;
- and a control device, the method comprising:
- compressing household waste within the container by means of the compression device;
- and
- controlling the temperature within the container by means of the cooling device,
- wherein the step of controlling the temperature comprises controlling the cooling device to freeze compressed waste within the container.
