Abstract
A tray comprising a cellulose ester. The tray is configured to experience a weight gain of less than 10% when submitted to a One-Hour Water Absorption Test, as described in the specification.

A foamed tray comprising a cellulose ester and a hydrophobic cap layer formed on an exterior surface of the foamed tray and,
- wherein the tray is configured to experience a weight gain of less than 10% when submitted to a One-Hour Water Absorption Test, as described in the specification.
A method of forming a foamed article, the method comprising:
- (a) producing a foamed sheet from a composition comprising cellulose ester and having a sheet density;
- and
- (b) thermoforming the foamed sheet, thereby forming the foamed article having an article density, wherein the article density is at least 20% less than the sheet density.
