Abstract
A leak mitigation system for a fluid-cooled computing device includes an absorbent pad having a fluid sensor connected to an absorbent material. The absorbent pad is placed in a position relative to the fluid-cooled computing device to collect fluid from the cooling system. The sensor detects the presence of a fluid absorbed by the absorbent material and the leak mitigation system implements a leak mitigation protocol to prevent or reduce damage to the computing device.
Claims20
A leak mitigation system for a fluid-cooled computing device, comprising:
- a quantity of an absorbent material;
- and
- a sensor connected to the absorbent material to detect a flow rate of fluid into the absorbent material.
A method for responding to fluid in a fluid-cooled computing device, comprising:
- absorbing the fluid with an absorbent material;
- detecting a flow rate of the fluid into the absorbent material with a sensor;
- determining a response to the detected flow rate of the fluid into the absorbent material;
- and
- implementing the response.
A leak mitigation system for a fluid-cooled computing device, comprising:
- a first quantity of an absorbent material;
- a first sensor connected to the first quantity of the absorbent material to detect a first fluid into the first quantity of the absorbent material;
- a second quantity of the absorbent material;
- second sensor connected to the second first quantity of the absorbent material to detect a second fluid into the second first quantity of the absorbent material;
- a processor in communication with the first sensor and the second sensor;
- and
- a memory, the memory including instructions, wherein the instructions are implemented by the processor, the instructions including:
- receive location data indicative of an installation location of the first quantity of the absorbent material and the first sensor;
- receive a second location data indicative of an installation location of the second quantity of the absorbent material and the second sensor;
- receive data from the first sensor;
- receive data from the second sensor;
- determine whether a leak has occurred near the first sensor or the second sensor;
- and
- determine a response to the leak near the first sensor or the second sensor.
