Method and apparatus for positioning screw mounts for wall mounted objects

Abstract

A method and apparatus for positioning screw mounts for wall hanging objects is provided. The apparatus has an elongated main body upon which a pair of brackets are slidably positioned. Each bracket has a mounting hole engagement pin and a marking hole, the pin and marking hole disposed on opposing sides of the bracket. The pins of the brackets are placed in the respective mounting holes of the object to be hung to establish the proper spacing, the bracket then held in place. Using the marking holes of the brackets, the user may then mark the wall to determine where to position the mounting screws. The apparatus also includes a screw insertion limiter to ensure the right amount of the screw is extended from the wall.
