Window-based congestion control

At least one non-transitory computer-readable medium, comprising instructions stored thereon, that if executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

• configure a network interface device to:
• indicate a capability to control a transmission rate of packets based on a received Inband Flow Analyzer (IFA) probe response packet that includes information to control the transmission rate of packets and
• based on a request to perform the capability, enable the capability in the network interface device, wherein:
• the IFA probe response packet is a response to a transmitted IFA probe packet,
• the network interface device comprises:
• a host interface, direct memory access (DMA) circuitry, and a network interface, and
• the network interface device is to adjust the transmission rate of packets based on the information.
