Various embodiments described herein provide for a method performed by a User Equipment (UE) for performing channel estimation for precoded transmissions received from a network node. In an embodiment, the UE can receive an indication from the network node that indicates whether a first precoder for a first demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) matches a second precoder for a second DM-RS received subsequent to the first transmission. If the precoders match, the UE can determine a frequency offset and a Doppler spread of the first transmission and the second transmission based on a first channel estimate of the first DM-RS and a second channel estimate of the second DM-RS. If the precoders do not match, the UE can determine the frequency offset and the Doppler spread of the first transmission and the second transmission based on a previous frequency offset and a previous Doppler spread.
