Abstract
The technology generally relates to accurately determining whether a current sensor of a battery pack is abnormal while determining a current validity of the battery pack through the current sensor. Determining whether the current sensor is sensor is based on measuring a consumption current of a battery management system for the battery pack.

A battery module comprising:
- a battery pack;
- a current sensor comprising a current detecting resistor electrically connected to a current path formed by the battery pack;
- and
- a battery controller configured to control the battery pack and determine whether the current sensor is abnormal based on a measurement result of the current sensor;
- wherein the current detecting resistor has one end that is connected to the battery pack and another end that is connected to a ground line of the battery controller.
A method of determining a state of a current sensor by a battery controller included in a battery module, the method comprising:
- receiving a measurement result of a current sensor comprising a current detecting resistor electrically connected to a current path that formed by a battery pack;
- and
- based on the measurement result of the current sensor, determining whether the current sensor is abnormal;
- wherein the current detecting resistor has one end that is connected to the battery pack and another end that is connected to a ground line of the battery controller.
A non-transitory computer readable medium for storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations for a method for determining a state of a current sensor by a battery controller included in a battery module, the method comprising:
- receiving a measurement result of a current sensor comprising a current detecting resistor electrically connected to a current path that formed by a battery pack;
- and
- based on the measurement result of the current sensor, determining whether the current sensor is abnormal;
- wherein the current detecting resistor has one end that is connected to the battery pack and another end that is connected to a ground line of the battery controller.
