Repair of ceramic vane using over-wrap fiber ply and re-stagger

A gas turbine engine comprising:

• a compressor section;
• a combustor in fluid communication with the compressor section;
• and
• a turbine section in fluid communication with the combustor, the turbine section having ceramic vanes disposed about a central axis of the gas turbine engine, at least one of the ceramic vanes includes:
• at least one platform and an airfoil section that extending from the at least one platform, the at least one platform including at least one mounting surface for supporting the ceramic vane and the airfoil section including a damaged region,
• at least one over-wrap fiber ply wrapped around the airfoil section, the at least one over-wrap fiber ply covering the damaged region, the at least one over-wrap fiber ply densified with a ceramic matrix material, and
• at least one build-up layer on the at least one mounting surface, the at least one build-up layer having an adjusted thickness and contour providing a desired stagger angle to the ceramic vane.
