Dump Trailer System

A dump trailer comprising:

• a trailer frame;
• a plurality of wheels mounted to the trailer frame;
• a trailer bed mounted to the trailer frame and defining a cargo space, wherein the trailer bed is movable relative to the trailer frame about a first rotational axis to a dump position at which a forward end of the trailer bed is raised relative to a rear end of the trailer bed to allow contents of the trailer bed to be dumped from the trailer bed, wherein the trailer bed includes a door attached to a wall of the trailer bed, wherein the door is rotatable about a second rotational axis relative to the wall between an open position and a closed position;
• and
• a latch assembly configured to selectively retain the door in the open position, wherein the latch assembly includes a first latch member and a second latch member,
• wherein the first latch member is attached to the door, and wherein the second latch member is fixedly attached to the wall,
• wherein the first latch member is pivotable about a third rotational axis relative to the trailer bed between a first position in which the first latch member is disengaged from the second latch member to allow movement of the door relative to the wall and a second position in which the first latch member is engaged with the second latch to prevent movement of the door relative to the wall.
