Abstract
A printer protection device for a printer module used at a packaging machine, in particular for a thermal transfer printer, which can be controlled to produce a print image on labels or to produce a print image on a packaging film, wherein the printer protection device has a waterproof foldable protective hood with a hood opening that is configured to receive, in a sealing manner, an attachment plate that supports the printer module.

A printer protection device for a printer module used at a packaging machine, which printer module can be controlled to produce a print image on labels or to produce a print image on a packaging film, wherein the printer protection device comprises a waterproof foldable protective hood with a hood opening that is configured to receive, in a sealing manner, an attachment plate that supports the printer module.
A method for configuring a packaging machine for a cleaning process, the method comprising:
- placing a waterproof foldable protective hood in a sealing manner, by way of a hood opening formed thereon, onto a plate edge of an attachment plate used to support a printer module, which plate edge is formed to correspond to the hood opening.
