Method of producing a building panel and a building panel

Abstract

A method for producing a building panel is provided. The method comprises providing a substrate (1), applying a sub-layer (2) comprising a no added formaldehyde (NAF) binder (6a) on a front surface (4) of the substrate (1), wherein said NAF binder (6a) is a thermosetting binder, applying a paper layer (3) on the sub-layer (2), wherein said paper layer (3) is essentially unimpregnated when applied on said sub-layer (2), and thereafter applying heat and pressure to the paper layer (3), the sub-layer (2) and the substrate (1), thereby at least partially impregnating the paper layer (3) with the NAF binder (6a) of the sub-layer (2) and at least partially curing the NAF binder (6a) of the sub-layer (2), to form said building panel. A building panel produced with the method is also provided.
