Abstract

The present disclosure refers to a rapid test device (1000) and a method of manufacturing rapid test devices (1000) for detecting a target analyte in a fluid sample, the method comprising the steps of: providing (S100) a top member (10) of a thermoformable material including a plurality of identically formed cavities (12) separated from each other in a driving direction (D), wherein the cavities (12) are embossed by thermoforming of the top member (10) and include at least one opening (14) in the cavities (12). The method further comprises the step of driving (S200) the top member (10) in the driving direction (D) by a driving unit (20). The method further includes the steps of inserting (S300) lateral flow test strips (34) into corresponding thermoformed cavities (12) of the top member (10). In a further step, the method includes the step of coupling (S400) a bottom member (60) to the top member (10) covering the cavities (12) to enclose the lateral flow test strips (34). Further, the method includes the step of cutting (S500) at separation lines between adjacent cavities (12) to obtain individual rapid test devices (1000; 1000A, 1000B, 1000C, 1000D, 1000E).
