Abstract
Methods, apparatus and systems are disclosed for analysing linac pulse signal samples to determine whether their shape is a standard one or not. When the shape is not a standard one, saving the raw data of the linac pulse signal samples, and, when the shape is a standard one, saving aggregated data that describes the linac pulse signal using less memory than the raw data.
Claims24
A method of processing pulse signal information of a radiotherapy linear accelerator, linac, the method comprising, for a plurality of synchronously triggered linac pulse signals:
- receiving linac pulse signal samples produced by sampling a linac pulse signal;
- analysing the linac pulse signal samples to classify a shape of the linac pulse signal as either being a standard shape or not being a standard shape;
- when the shape of the linac pulse signal is classified as not being a standard shape, sending the linac pulse signal samples to be persistently stored in memory;
- when the shape of the linac pulse signal is classified as being a standard shape, sending to be persistently stored in memory one or more characterising features determined from the linac pulse signal samples as characterising the linac pulse signal, wherein an amount of memory required to store the one or more characterising features is less than an amount of memory required to store the linac pulse signal samples.
A method of processing pulse signal information of a radiotherapy linear accelerator, linac, the method comprising:
- analysing a sample of a first linac pulse signal to classify a shape of the first linac pulse signal as either being a standard shape or not being a standard shape;
- when the shape of the first linac pulse signal is classified as not being a standard shape, recording raw data of the first linac pulse signal and associating the raw data of the first linac pulse signal with a session;
- classifying a subsequent linac pulse signal as either being a similar shape to the first linac pulse signal or not;
- if the shape of a subsequent linac pulse signal is classified as being similar to the shape of the first linac pulse signal, incrementing a count of a number of linac pulse signals within the session that are not a standard shape.
