Abstract
Presented are approaches for the dynamic modification of the functionality of a RTC session. Embodiments of the present invention are therefore directed toward enabling the functionality of a RTC system to be modified, extended and/or improved while it is implementing a RTC session. Exemplary embodiments include: identifying a request for a first algorithm of a set of algorithms; and adding the first algorithm to the real-time communication session as a virtual participant.
Claims8
A method for dynamic modification of functionality of a communications session, the method comprising:
- establishing the communication session,
- wherein the communication session comprises a configuration,
- wherein the configuration provides one or more functions to the communication session;
- identifying a request for a first algorithm of a set of algorithms,
- wherein the set of algorithms provides a set of functions that are not included in the one or more functions provided to the communication session by the configuration,
- wherein each algorithm of the set of algorithms is configured to provide an associated function to the communication session when executed during the communication session;
- and
- adding an instance of the first algorithm to the communication session as a virtual participant.
A system for dynamic modification of functionality of a communications session, the system comprising:
- a communication circuit configured to establish the communication session,
- wherein the communication session comprises a configuration,
- wherein the configuration provides one or more functions to the communication session;
- a processing circuit configured to identify a request for a first algorithm of a set of algorithms,
- wherein the set of algorithms provides a set of functions that are not included in the one or more functions provided to the communication session by the configuration,
- wherein each algorithm of the set of algorithms is configured to provide an associated function when executed during the communication session;
- and
- a modification circuit configured to add an instance of the first algorithm to the communication session as a virtual participant.
A system for dynamic modification of functionality of a face-to-face interaction between first and second participants, the system comprising:
- a system for dynamic modification of functionality of a communications session,
- wherein the communication session comprises a configuration,
- wherein the configuration provides one or more functions to the communication session,
- wherein the dynamic modification of functionality of the communication session comprises adding at least one additional function of the communication session as a virtual participant for use by at least one of the first and second participants of the face-to-face interaction.
