Abstract
An electro-optic device is described. The electro-optic device includes multiple optical modulators corresponding to multiple channels. Each optical modulator includes at least one thin film lithium-containing (TFLC) material. The optical modulators have a pitch of not more than two hundred micrometers.
Claims21
An electro-optic device, comprising:
- a plurality of optical modulators corresponding to a plurality of channels, each of the plurality of optical modulators including at least one thin film lithium-containing (TFLC) material, the plurality of optical modulators having a pitch of not more than two hundred micrometers.
An electro-optic device, comprising:
- a waveguide including at least one thin film lithium-containing (TFLC) material and configured to carry an optical signal;
- and
- a plurality of electrodes, the plurality of electrodes configured to carry an electrode signal for modulating the optical signal, a portion of the waveguide being between a first portion of a first electrode of the plurality of electrodes and a first portion of a second electrode of the plurality of electrodes, a second portion of the first electrode and a second portion of the second electrode being offset in a direction perpendicular-to-plane for the electro-optic device.
A method, comprising:
- providing a plurality of optical modulators of an electro-optic device, the plurality of optical modulators corresponding to a plurality of channels, each of the plurality of optical modulators including at least one thin film lithium-containing (TFLC) material, the plurality of optical modulators having a pitch of not more than two hundred micrometers.
