Abstract

A helmet system that includes a flexible member assembly removably attachable to the helmet system is disclosed, for example to a mount disposed on an outer surface of a helmet shell. The flexible member assembly includes a coupling member attached to an end of a flexible member. The mount includes an interface having an assembly portion for receiving the coupling member and a lock portion for securing the coupling member. In some implementations, the coupling member may be secured with tactile feedback, seated by tension applied to the flexible member, and/or is flush with an outer surface of the mount when secured. The helmet system may further include a visor mount and a visor assembly configured for adjustable positioning along a rail. A flexible member assembly independently attachable to an object associated with a helmet system is also disclosed.
