Abstract
The method for determining the roughness of a surface (6) of a pivot hole (5) in a pivot stone (1) for a timepiece movement (100) involves: preparing the pivot stone (1), involving ablating a first portion of the pivot stone (1), including a portion of the surface (6) of the pivot hole (5) to obtain a second portion of the pivot stone (1), followed by measuring the surface (6) of the pivot hole (5) located in the second portion of the pivot stone (1).

A process for determining a roughness of a surface of a pivot hole of a pivot jewel for a timepiece movement, the process comprising:
- preparing the pivot jewel, comprising ablating a first part of the pivot jewel including (i) a part of the surface of the pivot hole, (ii) a part of an outer surface of the pivot jewel, and (iii) a part of a volume between the surface of the pivot hole and the outer surface of the pivot jewel, in order to obtain a second part of the pivot jewel, and then
- measuring the surface of the pivot hole located on the second part of the pivot jewel.
