Abstract
A battery assembly for a cooking appliance includes a battery housing defining a battery compartment, a battery mounted within the battery compartment and being electrically coupled to an electric heating element of the cooking appliance, and a heat shield positioned between the cooking chamber and the battery compartment.

A cooking appliance defining a vertical direction, a lateral direction, and a transverse direction, the cooking appliance comprising:
- a cabinet;
- a cooking chamber positioned within the cabinet;
- an electric heating element positioned in thermal communication with the cooking chamber;
- a battery housing positioned within the cabinet adjacent to the cooking chamber, the battery housing defining a battery compartment;
- a battery mounted within the battery compartment and being electrically coupled to the electric heating element;
- and
- a heat shield positioned between the cooking chamber and the battery compartment.
A battery assembly for a cooking appliance, the cooking appliance comprising an electric heating element within a cooking chamber, the battery assembly comprising:
- a battery housing defining a battery compartment;
- a battery mounted within the battery compartment and being electrically coupled to the electric heating element;
- and
- a heat shield positioned between the cooking chamber and the battery compartment.
