A vegetal concrete masonry unit and method and system for manufacturing thereof are disclosed. The masonry unit comprises treated crop residues (e.g., paddy straw, wheat straw, bagasse), a binder of hydrated lime, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), and low-content alkali activator (2.5-20% by mass), and aggregates in a mass ratio of 1:0.1:1.5 to 1:5:5, achieving compressive strengths of 2-20 MPa and densities of 950-1900 kg/m3. The method involves alkali-treating residues at 0.1-10M NaOH for 15-1500 minutes, passing through a screw press, mixing with binder and aggregates to form C-A-S-H and N-A-S-H gels, and high-pressure molding (2-10 MPa). The system includes silos, a retention tank/screw press, pan mixer, and hydraulic press. This sustainable bio-composite utilizes agricultural/industrial wastes, reduces emissions by 80%, is energy efficient, enhances compatibility and mechanical performance, and provides thermal insulation for eco-friendly building blocks and panels.
