A method for detecting a compound of interest secreted by a cell, comprising:
- a. contacting a cell with a first capturing agent capable of binding to the cell and to a compound of interest, thereby binding the first capturing agent to the cell;
- b. incubating the cell in a condition allowing for secretion of the compound of interest by the cell, thereby capturing the compound of interest secreted by the cell by the first capturing agent bound to the cell;
- c. contacting the cell with a second capturing agent comprising a label, wherein the second capturing agent is capable of binding the compound of interest captured by the first capturing agent, and wherein the label is selected from the group consisting of a fluorescent label, a nucleic acid-based label, and a barcode label;
- d. detecting the label, thereby detecting the compound of interest.
