Abstract
A balloon catheter includes an inflatable and deflatable balloon. The balloon includes a straight tube portion in a cylindrical shape with a diameter that is at a maximum when the balloon is inflated. The straight tube portion includes an external protrusion that protrudes from an outer periphery of the straight tube portion. The external protrusion extends in a direction that is angled to an axial direction of the straight tube portion and along the outer periphery of the straight tube portion.

A balloon catheter comprising a balloon that is inflatable and deflatable, wherein
- the balloon includes a straight tube portion that is in a cylindrical shape with a diameter that is at a maximum when the balloon is inflated,
- the straight tube portion includes an external protrusion that protrudes from an outer periphery of the straight tube portion, and
- the external protrusion extends in a direction that is angled to an axial direction of the straight tube portion and along the outer periphery.
