Low-power driving method and apparatus for a display device having in-pixel memory based on data change detection

A display driving apparatus for driving a display panel having an in-pixel memory, the device comprising:

• an interface configured to receive, from a host device, a command indicating no change in frame data;
• an interface controller configured to generate a control signal that deactivates a transmission path of frame data connected to the interface and maintains an internal sync signal generated based on the previous frame data;
• and
• a logic controller configured to control the display panel to be refreshed based on the internal sync signal and the previous frame data stored in the in-pixel memory in response to the control signal.

A display driving apparatus for driving a display panel having an in-pixel memory, the device comprising:

• a receiving interface configured to receive current frame data from a host device;
• a comparator configured to compare an attribute value of the current frame data with an attribute value of previous frame data stored in an attribute value memory and to generate a control signal to deactivate a frame data transmission path if the attribute values are the same;
• and
• a logic controller configured to control the display panel to be refreshed a screen based on the previous frame data stored in the in-pixel memory in response to the control signal.
