Monitoring solutions for electrical systems

A device for monitoring an operating state of a circuit breaker electrically connected to an electric line, wherein the device is configured to:

• inject one or more first signals at a first point of the electric line, wherein the one or more first signals have frequency content at least partially included in a predefined frequency range;
• detect one or more second signals at a second point of the electric line, wherein the one or more second signals are detected with a detection frequency band calculated based on the frequency range;
• and
• calculate a frequency response function indicative of a frequency response of the electric line in the frequency range based on the detected one or more second signals.

A low-voltage electrical system comprising:

• an electric line;
• a circuit breaker electrically connected to the electric line;
• and
• a device configured to monitor an operating state of the circuit breaker, wherein the device is configured to:
• inject one or more first signals at a first point of the electric line, wherein the one or more first signals have frequency content at least partially included in a predefined frequency range;
• detect one or more second signals at a second point of the electric line, wherein the one or more second signals are detected with a detection frequency band calculated based on the frequency range;
• and
• calculate a frequency response function indicative of a frequency response of the electric line in the frequency range based on the detected one or more second signals.
