Flexible hose with embedded helical conductors and method of manufacturing same

A flexible plastic hose comprising a flexible hose wall formed of a helically wound ribbon and a helical outer support rib, and a plurality of conductors helically disposed within said support rib,

• wherein adjacent windings of the ribbon are attached to each other by means of a weld material such that an elongate tubular body is formed having a substantially smooth bore,
• wherein the support rib is positioned on top of the weld material and comprises a lower rib portion, comprising a plurality of grooves wherein the conductors are disposed, and an upper rib portion on top of the lower rib portion and the conductors, and
• wherein the weld material attaches the lower rib portion on the tubular body.

A flexible plastic hose comprising a flexible hose wall comprising a thin-walled tubular body with a helical outer support rib and a plurality of conductors helically disposed within said support rib, wherein the hose comprises a cuff connected to a first extremity of the tubular body and comprising a cable interface portion provided for connecting a cable to the cuff and a platform portion where the conductors are connected to connector pads of the cable interface, wherein over a first portion at the first extremity of the tubular body the helical outer support rib is flattened with respect to a second, subsequent portion of the tubular body.
