Abstract
In one aspect, the disclosure relates to new antioxidant and/or antiozonant compounds and methods of making the same. The compounds have migration profiles and performance in rubber compositions that are comparable to those of known antiozonants such as 6PPD. Also disclosed herein are rubber compositions including the disclosed compounds and tires and/or other rubber articles including the rubber compositions.

A compound of Formula I or a salt thereof:
- wherein R1 and R2 independently comprise linear or branched C3-C20 alkyl;
- substituted or unsubstituted C3-C20 cycloalkyl, linear or branched C3-C10 alkenyl;
- fused or bridged C3-C20 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C5-C10 heteroaryl, or substituted or unsubstituted C5-C20 aryl;
- provided that R2 is not
- when R1 is phenyl.
