Abstract
A refrigerator and a method for controlling a temperature of the refrigerator. By supplying the cold air generated from the freezer evaporator and supplied to the freezing compartment to the convertible compartment, it is possible to implement the convertible compartment temperature-decreasing mode, which achieves the temperature of the convertible compartment that is lower than that of the refrigerating compartment, and the convertible compartment temperature-increasing mode, which achieves the temperature of the convertible compartment that is higher than that of the refrigerating compartment.
Claims20
A refrigerator comprising:
- a cabinet including a refrigerating compartment and a freezing compartment;
- one or more doors for opening and closing the refrigerating compartment;
- a convertible compartment mounted on the door;
- a freezer evaporator disposed in the freezing compartment and configured to generate cold air supplied to the freezing compartment;
- and
- a cold-air supply duct configured to allow communication between the convertible compartment to the freezing compartment and supply the cold air from the freezing compartment to the convertible compartment.
A method for controlling a temperature of a refrigerator including a refrigerating compartment, a freezing compartment, a convertible compartment mounted on a door for opening and closing the refrigerating compartment, a freezer evaporator disposed in the freezing compartment and configured to generate cold air supplied to the freezing compartment, and a cold-air supply duct for supplying cold air from the freezing compartment to the convertible compartment, the method comprising:
- performing a convertible compartment temperature-decreasing mode to achieve a temperature of the convertible compartment that is lower than a temperature of the refrigerating compartment;
- and
- performing a convertible compartment temperature-increasing mode to achieve a temperature of the convertible compartment that is higher than the temperature of the refrigerating compartment.
