Abstract
Materials and methods for producing tequila-like alcoholic beverages containing individual volatile components are provided herein.
Claims139
An agave spirit replica comprising:
- water,
- a grain neutral spirit,
- optionally, a agave spirit, wherein said agave spirit replica comprises no more than about 10 wt % of said agave spirit,
- glycerin,
- optionally, an oak extract,
- optionally, a plant oil, and
- at least ten added volatile organic compounds (VOCs), wherein said added VOCs comprise at least one acid, at least one additional alcohol, at least one aldehyde, at least one ester, at least one terpene, and at least one furan, and wherein said added VOCs comprise about 0.001 wt % to about 1 wt % of said agave spirit replica.

A method for making an agave spirit replica, wherein said method comprises combining:
- water,
- a grain neutral spirit,
- optionally, an agave spirit, wherein said agave spirit replica comprises no more than about 10 wt % of said agave spirit,
- glycerin,
- optionally, an oak extract,
- optionally, a plant oil, and
- at least ten added VOCs, wherein said VOCs are provided as separate ingredients and comprise at least one acid, at least one additional alcohol, at least one aldehyde, at least ester, at least one terpene, and at least one furan, and wherein said added VOCs comprise about 0.001 wt % to about 1 wt % of said agave spirit replica.

A tequila-like alcoholic beverage concentrate comprising:
- glycerin,
- optionally, a tequila, wherein said alcoholic beverage, after dilution to produce a final product, comprises no more than about 10 wt % of said tequila,
- optionally, an oak extract,
- optionally, a plant oil, and
- at least ten added VOCs, wherein said added VOCs comprise at least one acid, at least one additional alcohol, at least one aldehyde, at least one ester, at least one terpene, and at least one furan, and wherein at least one of said added VOCs is present in a concentration of at least about 2-fold the concentration of the same VOC in a corresponding traditional tequila or a corresponding non-concentrate tequila.

A method of making a tequila-like alcoholic beverage concentrate, the method comprising combining:
- glycerin,
- optionally, a tequila, wherein said alcoholic beverage, after dilution to produce a final product, comprises no more than about 10 wt % of said tequila,
- optionally, an oak extract,
- optionally, a plant oil, and
- at least ten added VOCs, wherein said added VOCs comprise at least one acid, at least one additional alcohol, at least one aldehyde, at least one ester, at least one terpene, and at least one furan, and wherein at least one of said added VOCs is present in a concentration of at least about 2-fold the concentration of the same VOC in a corresponding traditional tequila or a corresponding non-concentrate tequila.
