Abstract

The present invention provides a novel method for producing an ion-exchanged hydrotalcite, the method including no complicated steps, needing no massive equipment, and enabling a hydrotalcite to be ion-exchanged while inhibiting the formation of a by-product, etc. This method for producing an ion-exchanged hydrotalcite (3) is characterized by comprising a first step, in which a powdery or pasty hydrotalcite (1) is mixed and reacted with an aqueous solution of an acid (2) so that the resultant mixture has a water content in the range of 10-60 mass %, and a second step, in which a reaction product obtained in the first step is dried and pulverized without via a cleaning step.
