Abstract

An insert inserting tool and a control method for the insert inserting tool are described that can prevent scratches such as abrasions on a workpiece when an insert is inserted into the workpiece and can homogeneously and efficiently insert the insert into the workpiece even in a case where a large number of inserts having different types are inserted. A mandrel on which an insert is mounted, an input device configured to input a signal of start of rotation of the mandrel when the insert is inserted into the workpiece, and a control device configured to control the rotation of the mandrel are used. When the insert is inserted into the workpiece, the control device performs control such that the insert is inserted into a workpiece without bringing a portion of an insertion unit including the mandrel into contact with the workpiece.
